Start-up businesses stand a chance to win an ICT overhaul at the inaugural Ekasi Tech Festival and Gaming Expo in Soweto.
Organisers say the prize includes access to business experts and funding agencies. The goal is to help the startups to fine-tune their innovation business solutions and services in ICT security, cloud, mobile, connectivity and business process outsource. There is also an opportunity that the most impressive pitch may secure partnerships and business opportunities.
The Ekasi Festival runs from October 25 to 27 at Walter Sisulu Square.
The aim of the event is to give township entrepreneurs the opportunity to engage in discussions that will help prepare them for the fourth industrial revolution.
"Global expansion is important to
job creation, growth and entrepreneurship ... hence we
are merely providing a platform for
start-ups that are determined to
disrupt the ICT sector to engage in intellectual, robust discussions, examining
the township readiness for the imminent fourth industrial revolution," said Mpho Tladi, COO of the i-Village and member of the organising committee.
"Young scholars, start-ups
and investors will be afforded a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to not only tap
into the best minds in the ICT and innovation sector, but they will also
realise the benefits presented through networking as well."
